Lithology and Thickness
It consists of greenstone-altered coarse- and giant-bedded, slate-like in the lower part, dark and light green basic volcanic rocks: diabases, picritic porphyrites, spilites, anamisites. (400-1000 m). In the lower part of the formation, the volcanics include lenses and discontinuous beds of limestones.
Relationships and Distribution
Lower contact
It lies in an unclear contact with the nominally Lower-Middle Triassic Agadzhan Fm (агаджанской толще)
Upper contact
Overlying deposits are absent.
Regional extent
It is developed in the axial part of the eastern half of the Pshart Range, in the estuarine part of the Kalaktash locality, and in the upper reaches of the Agadjan river basin.

Fossils
In the lower part of the formation, the volcanics include lenses and discontinuous beds of limestones, from which remains of Ladinian-Carnian corals have been collected: Craspedophyllia alpina (Loretz), Margarosmilia septanectens (Loretz), Margarophyllia sp., Prothoheterastraea leonardi (Volz), Margarosmilia cf. confluens (Münst.), Thecosmilia? ex gr. sublaevis (Münst.), Triadophyllum sp.
